Two anniversaries at Würth! Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG looks back on its 65th anniversary and entrepreneur and collector Reinhold Würth celebrates his 75th birthday. We are happy to use these two important events as an opportunity to present a corresponding exhibition at Museum Würth in Künzelsau-Gaisbach. From the Würth collection, which now comprises around 12,500 works of art, we made a small, yet fine selection of 75 pieces from 75 years, which-following Reinhold Würth’s CV-presents exemplary works of art from 1935 to today.
The corporate collection, the foundation of which was laid by the collector Reinhold Würth in the 1960s, on the one hand documents his very personal view of the arts, and on the other hand, due to its multifaceted nature, it also offers the opportunity to review the art development of the past 75 years. This way, we will meet again with well-known works of art, but many new discoveries are also included in the exhibition.
It may be a coincidence that the first image of the Würth collection, Emil Noldes Cloud reflection in the Marsh, was created during the collector’s year of birth. But it is precisely these coincidences that make collection fascinate and often lead to the most beautiful discoveries. Distinguished artists from Hans ARP to Andy Warhol cover the range of art from the 20th century. Meanwhile, Daniele Buetti, Markus Redl or Donna Stolz represent younger positions.
At the same time, the company’s history is presented attractively at specially designed stations in the exhibition. The development of the company from a two-man business to a globally operating Würth Group is demonstrated in an exciting manner and understandable in the context of both the personal circumstances of the employees and the world’s history.
